Independent candidate for Wanneroo seat Max Wilson condemned on Friday the death threats directed to the Liberal politicians including Premier Colin Barnett. “These death threats are a threat against our democracy”, Wilson said. ”

“No candidate should be placed in a fearful state for themselves and their family in this manner.”

On Friday Premier Colin Barnett, Deputy Premier Lisa Harvey and at least six other politicians of Liberal Party confirmed that they received letters with death threats against them, their spouses and children.

Mr. Barnett was forced to organize press conference in the Parliament, because of the need to be in a secure location.

“I think it is a very sad thing, it is not the Australian way,” Premier said commenting on the threat of violence during the campaign.

Labor did not comment on these terrorist threats.
